NIST Cybersecurity Framework support means mapping the controls Cyber Shift Technologies already runs for you onto the framework's six functions, Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover, so you have a plain-language answer the next time a customer, insurer, or contract asks where you stand.

Where NIST Questions Come From

NIST is showing up in more contracts and renewals.

It gives everyone asking about your security a shared vocabulary, but it does not tell you what to say back.

A customer or insurer asked about NIST

A manufacturer, supplier, or vendor questionnaire increasingly names NIST by name, and you need a real answer, not a guess.

NIST has no certificate to point to

The framework is voluntary and carries no certification, so a business cannot simply produce a NIST certificate the way it might for other standards.

Mapping your controls to six functions takes work

Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover sounds simple until you have to show real evidence under each one.

What We Cover

One practice, mapped to NIST's six functions.

A CIS-to-NIST mapping

The CIS Controls safeguards Cyber Shift Technologies already implements and evidences, mapped onto NIST's six functions on request.

A plain-language maturity read

Absolutely recommend Cyber Shift Technologies. John and staff did a great job determining our IT needs and quickly gave us a quote. They transferred all of our data and set up all my new equipment. I have peace of mind knowing my data is secure and being monitored properly. Wish I would have done this sooner!! Very Grateful.

Before You Call

Straight answers before you book a call.

Straight answers about NIST, what it requires, and what Cyber Shift Technologies does and does not do here.

Is there a NIST certificate we can show our insurer?

No, NIST's Cybersecurity Framework has no certificate to issue, since it is a voluntary framework, not a certification program. What actually satisfies that ask is a documented, plain-language read on where your controls stand against the framework's six functions, which Cyber Shift Technologies can build from the safeguards already in place.

What are the NIST Cybersecurity Framework's six functions?

Govern sets your security strategy and who owns it. Then Identify what you have, Protect it, Detect problems, Respond to them, and Recover afterward. NIST's current version, CSF 2.0, organizes security work into those six plain-language functions, giving you and anyone asking about your security a shared vocabulary, without mandating specific tools or a score.

Can Cyber Shift Technologies give us an official NIST Tier rating?

No, Cyber Shift Technologies does not self-issue a formal NIST Tier rating the way a third-party assessor would, and NIST itself has no certification to claim. What we do instead is a plain-language read on where your controls stand against the six functions, built from the safeguards already documented and in place.
