Backup and disaster recovery means backups that are tested, not just scheduled, plus a real plan for getting a business back up after a server dies, ransomware hits, or a storm takes out power. Cyber Shift Technologies runs cloud, local, and hybrid backups for Northeast Ohio businesses, with recovery tested before it is needed, not after.

Absolutely recommend Cyber Shift Technologies. John and staff did a great job determining our IT needs and quickly gave us a quote. They transferred all of our data and set up all my new equipment. I have peace of mind knowing my data is secure and being monitored properly. Wish I would have done this sooner!! Very Grateful.

My company just switched to Cybershift from our old vendor and made some pretty sweeping changes to our technology setup. There was a lot of moving parts, but they worked around my staff and got us transitioned over to our new systems with very minimal downtime or disruption. All of the techs were extremely patient with me and my staff and all of our questions and worked through a few issues that arose during the transition. Since then, they've been very responsive and helpful with any issues that have come up and they do a great job of remote assistance, but are willing to come on site when they need to. Very highly recommend.

Before You Call

Data protection and recovery: your questions answered.

Straight answers about backup testing, recovery time, and what happens during an outage.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

A backup is a copy of data you can use to restore lost information. Disaster recovery considers how your business will resume operating, including systems, access, priorities and responsibilities. You need to understand both: having a copy does not automatically mean every application or workflow can restart immediately.

How quickly could our business recover after an outage?

The honest answer is that it depends on what broke, and anyone who quotes a number before seeing your systems is guessing. The useful work happens ahead of time: deciding which systems must come back first, then testing a restore so the recovery time is measured, not assumed. We'll walk through yours on a 30-minute call.

How do you know the backups actually work?

Where Cyber Shift manages your backups, restores are tested daily by automation and monthly by our team, not just backup jobs that report success. A backup that has never been restored is a guess. Testing it ahead of time turns that guess into an answer before you need it.

What happens if ransomware hits before a fix is in place?

A clean backup kept separate from your live network is the fastest way back from ransomware, because it lets you restore known-good data instead of deciding whether to pay. If the backup sits on the same network the attack reached, it can be encrypted too. Checking how backups are separated is one of the first things we look at.

We already have a backup tool. Can you just manage it?

It depends on the tool. What matters is whether it can restore what your business needs, as fast as it needs it. Start with a 30-minute call about your current setup, and we'll tell you straight whether it looks worth keeping and what managing it would involve.

We already back up to an external drive or Google Drive. Isn't that enough?

It's better than nothing, but it has gaps. A drive that stays plugged in can be encrypted by ransomware along with everything else, and a synced folder can copy a deleted or scrambled file right over the good one. The question that matters is simple: has anyone restored from it lately? If not, start there.

Can we get backup and recovery from you without switching our other IT?

Tell us what you have now and we'll give you a straight answer on a 30-minute call. Backup and recovery touches the systems it protects, so how it fits depends on who manages those systems today. If you already have an IT person, co-managed IT is built for sharing that work.
